By Canadian Ballers, 03/25/15, 8:15PM EDT

Team Ennis Make Their AAU Debut Saturday

AAU season is in the air. With the high school season officially a wrap, focus now shifts to the spring and summer where student-athletes now go on tour of duties with their respective travel clubs.

An event this Saturday in Orangeville, ON at Athlete Institute will give Toronto hoop fans an opportunity to see some of the countries highest profile prospects. An opportunity in their own backyard, before these talents embark on a circuit where majority of their games will be played on American soil.

It is billed the AAU Pre-Season Exhibition Classic and the lineup is heavy.

Headlining the event will be the debut of AAU club Team Ennis. Owned and operated by Milwaukee Buck Tyler Ennis and sponsored by Jordan brand— Team Ennis will boast two teams.

1999/15U Team Ennis squad featuring 2018's 6'5" Keshaun Saunders (Orangeville Prep), 6'7" Danillo Djuricic (St. Michael's) and 6'8" Simi Shittu (Corpus Christi) among others is considered by some as the most talented AAU team in Canada. They will travel USA this summer and play in 16U Peach Jam qualifying competitions in an effort to qualify for the elusive Peach Jam Sweet 16 championships in North Augusta, SC at circuits end.

Team Ennis 2000/14U team will also be tossing it up on Saturday. A roster headlined by No.1 ranked 2019 in Canada and arguably in North America 6'5" south paw RJ Barrett along side running mate Andrew Nembhard among other rising stars set to make their mark on the AAU circuit this summer.

Hoping to meet Team Ennis 15U in North Augusta, SC is CIA Bounce 1998/16U's featuring 2017 6'5" Tyler Plummer (La Lumiere) who already boasts an offer from Stanford and his new teammate 2017 6'10" Matur Maker. Saturday in Orangeville will mark the first time Maker dons a CIA Bounce jersey where he should fit in nicely on a squad filling a void for length and size. CIA Bounce 16U also boast Orangeville Prep point guard 2017 6'2" Jahvon Blair who was awarded Jordan Brand International Game MVP in 2014.

CIA Bounce 15U will also be in attendance. 2014 Big 12 player of the year Melvin Ejim has a 2018 younger brother 6'3" Deon Ejim who is still growing and some say may be the best Ejim when it all said and done. Deon was instrumental In D'Youville's junior team success in 2014-15 that saw the Panthers reach the ROPSAA championship game. Shamar Givance and Atik Gilao are other names looking to showcase their stuff beginning Saturday and throughout this summer.

S-Elite will bring both their 15U and 16U squads for multiple showdowns. Albeit a recent partnership w/UPLAY that will see some of their U16 talents tour the Adidas circuit with Stackhouse UPLAY, 2017 Christian David is expected to be in attendance. Accompanied by Xavier Ochu, Shamiel Stevenson and Jordan Brathwaite

2014-15 was the year of diaper dandies in Canadian highs school hoops. 2019 6'0" Avan Nava (St. Francis Xavier) was one of them. Nicknamed Asian chocolate for his flashy knack of finding teammates, Nava and his 2014 Ontario Cup 1999/U14 champions are on the card also. Accompanying them will be the Jayhawks 1998/15U team too.

After battling the best in the National Youth Basketball League (NYBL) last summer, DC United 15U arrives in Orangeville craving more elite competition. One name on DC to keep an eye on is Jared Parkin who was one of the Bulldogs better performers in NYBL action last summer.
